PROFILE

BACKGROUND The history of the Forest Farmers Group "LIMA BERSAUDARA" began to carry out honey bee cultivation, motivated by wanting to take part in saving forests from fire disasters that occur every year in the Central Kalimantan region, as well as to preserve forests and flora ecosystems of Kalimantan forests. Since 2013, he has started the bee cultivation business, starting with 10 honey bee colonies (apis mellifera) which were intentionally imported from Central Java, then developing up to 30 colonies that are prepared to form several farmer groups that will participate in honey bee cultivation. VISION The realization of community independence and increased sources of income from non-timber forest products (HHBK) MISSION Developing the Ability and Willingness of all elements of society to play an active role can gradually achieve their own needs to protect and preserve their environment in a harmonious and balanced manner through the empowerment process. Positive intervention is carried out through strengthening the people's economy and strengthening human resources and natural resources as well as the ability to use appropriate technology. A. Market Conditions If you look at the increasing market or demand for honey from Kalimantan forests, while the production of honey from forest bees itself is less than optimal, it seems that the cultivation of honey bee apis mellifera can be the best way out to meet the honey market .. B. Marketing Plan With the sale of original honey from the BORNEO MELLIFERA brand which already has regular customers and is assisted by online marketing which has received a pretty good response.
