The Pasuruan-based company KaIND, creates handloom-woven, written, and stamped batik that is then processed sustainably into apparel, scarves, home decor, and fashion accessories. The trademark item of KaIND is woven batik, which is made from local silk produced by silk farmers in Pasuruan. Our business, CV. Karya Temanesia, was established in 2017 and has been guided by five core values: ethical leadership, fair trade, local empowerment, eco conscious and circular fashion. In 2019, KAIND introduced a new product line, woven fabrics using the first and only fabricated Eri silk threads in Indonesia, which are 100% organic and biodegradable, have a modern texture, are comfortable on the skin and are suitable for various fashion products. Collaborating with more than 250 eri silk farmers KaIND creates ethical silk cultivation without killing the pupa inside the cocoon. By increasing the value of eri silk fiber into artisanal products and supporting the independence of local silk fiber as a crucial component for fashion industry in Indonesia, KaIND is able to increase the positive impact on the economy of silk farmers in the Pasuruan area and its surroundings.
